Wayanad: The charred body of a man found on the terrace of an under-construction three-storey building at Kambalakkad near Kalpetta was identified as that of Al Ameen alias Sunilkumar (50). He was a native of Karamana, Thiruvananthapuram.
Labourers found the body on Tuesday morning, lying on the terrace with wires tied around both legs. It was initially suspected to be that of a migrant labourer, but later confirmed to be Sunilkumar’s.
Police shifted the body to the Government Medical College Hospital, Mananthavadi, for a post-mortem examination. According to Kambalakkad Police Inspector Santhosh Kumar, Sunilkumar, who was divorced, had earlier been arrested in a POCSO case under the Vellamunda police limits in 2024. He had no stable job and had been moving from place to place for months.
The cause of death remains unclear. Police are probing all possibilities, considering the deceased’s involvement in multiple sexual offence cases.
