Pathanamthitta: The Sabarimala Ayyappa temple is set to witness a massive influx of devotees during the upcoming Mandala pilgrimage season, which will begin on November 16 and conclude on December 27.

The Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) has announced that virtual queue booking for darshan will open on November 1. As per the board, a maximum of 70,000 pilgrims will be permitted to visit the shrine per day through the virtual queue system, while spot booking has been capped at 20,000 devotees daily.

In a review meeting held to assess preparations ahead of the Mandala season, the TDB decided to construct 10 nadapandals and a large German pandal at Pampa, capable of accommodating around 10,000 devotees at a time for rest.

To meet the high demand, the board also plans to maintain a buffer stock of 50 lakh Aravana bottles, officials said.
