Kothamangalam: In a rare incident, a buffalo climbed onto the terrace of a two-storey building at Plamudy near Kottappadi, prompting a rescue operation by the Fire and Rescue Services.

The animal reportedly reached the terrace by climbing the staircase of the building owned by the Bethel Foundation. It had been let loose by its owner for grazing when it wandered into the premises and ended up stranded on the roof.

Fire and Rescue personnel managed to bring the buffalo down safely after several hours of effort. The animal was tied with ropes and carefully lowered to the ground.
