Muhamma police station bags CM’s trophy for top performance

Alappuzha: The Muhamma Police Station in Alappuzha has bagged the Chief Minister’s Trophy for the Best Police Station in Kerala for 2024. The annual award honours stations that excel in efficiency and public service during the evaluation period.
The Kodungallur Police Station in Thrissur and the Bekal Police Station in Kasaragod secured the second and third places, respectively. The winners were selected by a committee chaired by the ADGP at the Police Headquarters. The awards were presented at a function held at the SAP Parade Ground on Saturday morning, where the Chief Minister handed over the honours.
Officers at the Muhamma Police Station expressed their delight over the recognition, which follows the station’s recent ISO certification. Key factors behind Muhamma’s selection included its people-friendly approach, adherence to the green protocol, improved infrastructure, effective crime prevention and investigation, prompt grievance redressal, and proactive anti-drug campaigns in schools.
Located near the Aryakkara Junction on the Alappuzha–Madurai State Highway, the Muhamma Police Station currently has 41 officers, including the Station House Officer. To mark the achievement, the officers celebrated by distributing sweets among themselves.
