Kayanna: The keys to ‘Home of Love’,  a house built by students of the Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit’s Tirur Regional Centre for one of their fellow students at Kuttivayal near Kayanna, will be handed over on November 9.

The handing-over ceremony, scheduled for 10.30 AM, will be inaugurated by K M Sachin Dev MLA, while Vice Chancellor Prof K Geetha Kumari will officially present the keys to the beneficiary, identfied as S L Anagha.

Anagha is a postgraduate student of History at the Tirur Regional Centre, who also serves as the Volunteer Secretary of the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit. The project has been implemented under the leadership of the NSS unit of the Centre, with active participation from students and teachers.

Anagha, who lost both her parents, has inherited five cents of land from her family at Marapatta in Kuttivayal, where the house now stands. Construction work began on May 4 this year, under the guidance of Prof Geetha Kumari.

With a built up area of 800 sq. ft, the house features a sit-out, hall, two bedrooms, kitchen, and bathroom, and was completed at a cost of ₹11 lakh. In addition to building the house, the NSS team has also arranged furniture, kitchen utensils and other essentials to help Anagha settle in comfortably.

The construction was coordinated by NSS Volunteer Secretaries Najif Noor, P Akhil, and Nadir Muhammad, under the supervision of the Centre’s Director Dr M Moosa and Programme Officers Dr Abdulla Shah and Dr Shamshad Hussain. Local ward member Haris Parambil also extended support to the initiative.
