Kottayam: The Swaruma Dress Bank, an initiative to collect usable clothes from the public and distribute them to those in need, has begun operations at the Catholic Trust building near the Sulabha Market in Kanjikkuzhy. The bank will accept contributions from individuals and firms alike.

Fr Davis Chirammal, Chairman of the Kidney Federation of India, inaugurated the initiative online, while Municipal Chairperson Bincy Sebastian presided over the function. Catholic Trust Chairman Rajan Thomas, Managing Trustee C V Jose, Joy Mundappally, Kerala Catholic Trust President Joseph Michael Kallivayalil, Fr Dr K M George, Prof Babu George, singer Cicily Abraham, Joseph Kuthukallungal and Abraham Kadamappuzha, President of Swaruma Palliative Care, Kottayam, were among those who spoke on the occasion.

Fr Roy Vadakkel, Director of Nalla Samarayan Ashram, inaugurated the Jeevan Dhara project, which aims to provide free dialysis kits to kidney patients.
