Anand Neelakantan, Amish Tripathi among top Indian authors to attend Manorama Hortus

Kochi: Renowned Indian authors Anand Neelakantan and Amish Tripathi, who have produced bestselling novels based on Indian mythology and the 'puranas', will share their creative journey at the Malayala Manorama Hortus Art and Literature Festival, to be held at Subhash Park in Kochi from November 27 to 30.
Attendees would have the chance to listen to the story behind the creation of Anand's latest work, 'Many Ramayanas, Many Lessons', and other bestsellers of his. They would also be able to read Anand's previous books in 13 languages, including a novel series that serves as a prequel to the blockbuster 'Baahubali' movies. His notable work in Malayalam is 'Pen-Ramayanam.'
Amish, who earned celebrity status following the publication of his 'Shiva trilogy', will speak at Hortus on 'The Chola Tigers: Avengers of Somnath', his most recent book. This work, based on the life of Rajendra Chola, also features a character from Kerala.
Manoranjan Byapari, a writer, Dalit activist, and MLA of the Trinamool Congress, would also participate in the event. Among his works, the most notable is the book 'Integrating My Chandaal Life.' Engaged in a constant battle against the caste system, Manoranjan will also share experiences from his life.
Manu S Pillai, an author who revived historical writing in the country, and Dhirendra Jha, a journalist who pens investigative works on modern India, are also expected to join. Other notable speakers include Ananya Vajpeyi, author of 'Righteous Republic: The Political Foundations of Modern India,' and Sindhu Rajasekaran, the screenwriter who wrote 'Forbidden Desire,' a book that reveals how British rule suppressed the freedom of the queer community.
