Kochi: Adding yet another luxury car to his garage, Kochi-based IT entrepreneur Venu Gopalakrishnan has purchased a Lamborghini Revuelto, the Italian marque’s first petrol-hybrid supercar and successor to the iconic Aventador.
According to sources in the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD), the price of the car itself stands at ₹10.06 crore, with an additional ₹2.21 crore paid as road tax, bringing the total cost to an eye-watering ₹12.27 crore.
The Revuelto, powered by a 6498cc V12 engine paired with electric motors, delivers a staggering 813 horsepower, marking it as one of the most powerful cars registered in Kerala.
But what truly turned heads was the fancy registration number that came with it. Gopalakrishnan successfully bid for the number KL 07 DH 7000 during an MVD auction held in Kochi. MVD sources said that the auction saw intense competition, and he clinched the number for a total of ₹25,02,000, a massive leap from the base price of just ₹25,000.
MVD sources also confirmed that the bidding for the new vehicle's registration was exceptionally tight. The competition was so fierce that the second-highest bidder reportedly quoted an amount just ₹1,000 lower than the final winning bid.
This is not the techpreneur’s first brush with high-profile bids. Earlier this year, he made headlines after placing a record-breaking ₹46-lakh bid for the registration number ‘KL 07 DG 0007’ for his Lamborghini Urus Performante.
Gopalakrishnan, the founder and CEO of Litmus7 Systems Consulting Pvt Ltd, was not available for comment on his latest purchase.
