Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has appointed former bureaucrat K Jayakumar IAS (Retd.) and former MLA Adv K Raju as new members of the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB). The notification, issued by the Revenue (Devaswom-A) Department November 10, states that the two will assume office from November 14 for a term of two years. K Jayakumar will serve as the TDB President.

Their nomination comes as the tenure of the current members, P S Prasanth and Adv A Ajikumar, ends on November 13. Both outgoing members had been nominated by the Hindus among the Council of Ministers in November 2023 for a two-year term.

According to the notification, the new appointments have been made under sub-sections (1) and (1A) of section 4 of the Travancore-Cochin Hindu Religious Institutions Act, 1950. The order was issued by M G Rajamanickam, Secretary to the Government, on behalf of the Governor.
