Actor Roshan Mathew to lead theatre workshop at Hortus festival in Kochi

Kochi: A theatre workshop led by actor Roshan Mathew and the screening of nine short films from the Berlinale will be among the major highlights of the Malayala Manorama Hortus Art and Literature Festival, to be held at Subhash Park, Kochi, from November 27 to 30.
At the workshop, Roshan will guide participants through the latest trends in theatre and explore techniques that make stage performances more engaging. Through simple, interactive activities, participants will also be introduced to the different layers of acting and character-building in drama.
The workshop, limited to 30 participants, will be held on November 27 from 11 am to 5 pm. The registration fee is ₹399, and seats will be allotted on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration can be completed by scanning the following QR code.
Short Films from Berlinale
Nine selected short films from Berlinale, which is among the most renowned film festivals in the world, will be screened at Hortus. These short films, which were chosen by Anna Henckel-Donnersmarck, a curator at Berlinale, highlight the theme of Hortus, ‘I – You – Us’; The Power of We’.
Screenings of the short films will take place daily at the Hortus theatre arranged at Subhash Park from November 27 to 30, at 7.30 pm. Entry is free.
