Akshay Kumar, a native of Palakkad, won the first prize of ₹50,000 for best photography in the monsoon photography camp held under the theme ‘It’s Raining’. Manorama Hortus, the German Cultural Centre Goethe-Zentrum, and the Forest Department jointly organised the camp.

The winners of the photography contest are as follows:

Second Prize (₹30,000): Dr Dincy Mariam (Kannur)
Third Prize (₹20,000): CV Krishnapriya (Kollam)
Victor George Award (₹25,000): Bibin Roy (Ernakulam)
Special Award of the Camp Director (₹5,000): A Nandu

Consolation Prizes (₹3,000 each): Aishwarya Madhu, Abhijit Warrier, Aleesha Beno, VM Amrutha, Haritha Vijith, MM Mitran, K R Muralidas, R Nikhila, Riya Maria Joseph, and Efrem Mathai.

The prize-winning photographs will be exhibited at Manorama Hortus, to be held at Subhash Park from November 27 to 30. Prizes will also be distributed during the event.

A total of 60 participants took part in the three photography camps conducted in the forests of Wayanad, Parambikulam, and Shendurney. Balan Madhavan, senior fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographers, served as the camp director.

Abdulla Harry wins first prize in screenplay contest
Abdulla Harry has won the first prize in the Manorama Yuva–Hortus Malayalam screenplay writing contest organised for college students. The first prize includes a cash award of ₹30,000 and a citation.

Akhil P David was declared the first runner-up (₹20,000), while Sruthil Mathew secured the second runner-up position (₹15,000). Midhun Shankar Prasad received a special mention (₹10,000).

The winners were selected by a jury comprising directors and screenplay writers Anand Ekarshi and Vinod Krishna, along with screenplay writer and actor Shanthy Mayadevi.
