IMD issues yellow alert in 2 Kerala districts on Sunday, 6 on Monday

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday issued a yellow alert for Kottayam and Idukki, predicting isolated heavy rainfall ranging between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm within 24 hours.
The IMD has also issued a yellow alert for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam and Idukki for Monday. On Tuesday, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki and Malappuram will remain under a yellow alert.
According to the weather agency, heavy rainfall of 7 cm to 11cm in 24 hours is very likely to occur at one or two places in Kerala from 16 to 20. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are very likely to occur at one or two places in Kerala on these days.
