Vandoor: Poroor Ayanikode Mannoorkara Ummer (60) gets extremely happy and elated when he is surrounded by the usual mob of crows, who he considers his close friends. The crows fly close to Ayanikode Junction in the morning waiting for Ummer who is an autorickshaw driver here. Ummer, meanwhile, will not come empty-handed and often brings them food. This has been his routine for the last six months, hence developing an unusual friendship.

Ummer lives close to Ayanikkode market and reaches the masjid early in the morning for prayers. Meanwhile, the mob of crows would already be waiting for him. Abu who runs a shop in front of the petrol pump in Matamburam will have something for the crows.

Ummer stops by Abu’s shop to collect the feed before reaching the junction. The crows would surround Ummer, cawing in their high-pitched noise as they spot him. They will then happily feed on things offered by Ummer.

Ummer has been an expatriate for over a decade before he became an autorickshaw driver in Ayanikode. Now, the people in the locality are curious about this unique friendship.
