Kochi: Eminent photo editor Kathy Moran, one of the most influential visual storytellers of National Geographic, is set to visit Manorama Hortus in Kochi.
Kathy, who was also the first Senior Editor of the magazine’s natural history projects, will present the awards to the winners of the photography competition “It’s Raining.”
Kathy will interact with the winners of the photography competition, organised jointly by Hortus, the German cultural centre Goethe-Zentrum, and the Kerala Forest Department, on November 27. The monsoon photography camps and competition were organised under the leadership of Dr Syed Ibrahim, Honorary Consul of Germany in Kerala, and the International League of Conservation Photography. Kathy Moran is a founding member of the League and currently serves on its board.
Kathy, a former Deputy Director of the Photography section, National Geographic, will also lead a Photography Master Class at the Hortus venue on November 28. This class will be of immense benefit to those keen on capturing images of nature and its living beings through the camera.
Kathy Moran’s signature can be seen in several notable editions of National Geographic on forests, wild animals, the ocean, and marine life. Several books she edited, such as African Diaries and Tigers Forever, serve as reference guides for photography enthusiasts.
