Kottayam: Writer and teacher B Saraswathi (94) died on Monday at her residence in Ettumanoor. Saraswathi retired as the headmistress of Kidangoor NSS High School. She was the daughter of writer Karoor Neelakanta Pillai.

Her husband, late M E Narayanakurup, was the retired Joint Director of the Panchayat Department under the Kerala Government.

She is survived by two sons, cinematographer and film director Venu, and N Ramachandran, former Superintendent of Police, Kottayam. Her daughters-in-law are Beena Paul and Aparna Ramachandran. The funeral will take place on Tuesday at 2pm at her Ettumanoor residence.
