Malappuram: The Students’ Union inauguration at Melmuri Priyadarshini College took an unusual turn this year, as Gyanendra Rajbanshi, the college night watchman and canteen chef, was given the honour of inaugurating the event. Fondly known as Gani Bhai among the students, he hails from Jogesh Vardhi in Bardhaman district, West Bengal, and has been with the college for 12 years.

Speaking at the event were College Manager Samad Mankada, Union Chairman M Muhammad Sahal, K Gokuldas, P Athira, P Rajeesh, C Subeesh and Devanand, among others.
