Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala State Lotteries Directorate has rescheduled the upcoming Sthree Sakthi and Karunya Plus lottery draws in view of the local body elections scheduled for next week.

In an order issued on Thursday, State Lottery Director Dr Mithun Premraj IAS said the draws originally fixed for December 9 and 11 coincide with the voting days announced by the State Election Commission.

Citing the Kerala Paper Lotteries (Regulation) Rules, 2005, the department has pushed the draws to new dates. The Sthree Sakthi SS-497 draw will now be held at 2.00 pm on December 10, while the Karunya Plus KN-601 draw has been moved to 2.00 pm on December 12.

The Directorate has said that the changes will be widely publicised through print and visual media.
