Payyannur: For those meeting him for the first time, Ramachandran is hard to miss. His striking resemblance to Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made P K Ramachandran of Madathil Vadassery an instant celebrity, and his recent trip to Delhi proved it once again.

While visiting the Taj Mahal, people in large numbers, including excited students, gathered around him, eager to capture videos and selfies. Ramachandran was travellinging with a 50-member group that also visited Agra, Mathura, Kashi and other destinations. At every stop, he drew attention and became an instant celebrity, turning heads and posing for pictures.

Realising that the constant attention was delaying the group’s journey, Ramachandran finally began covering his face to continue travelling.

Having worked in Mumbai and abroad, Modi's doppelganger first shot to fame after returning to Kerala in 2016, when a photograph of him at Payyannur station went viral on social media. Malayala Manorama had also featured him at that time.
