While visiting the Taj Mahal, people in large numbers, including excited students, gathered around him, eager to capture videos and selfies. Ramachandran was travellinging with a 50-member group that also visited Agra, Mathura, Kashi and other destinations. Having worked in Mumbai and abroad, Modi's doppelganger first shot to fame after returning to Kerala in 2016, when a photograph of him at Payyannur station went viral on social media. Malayala Manorama had also featured him at that time.
