Kottayam: CMS College, Kottayam, the first college in Kerala to pioneer modern education, is taking yet another unique step in the world of `letters'.

The college will soon host the state’s first Gen Z Post Office, set up by the Postal Department as part of an initiative to make postal services more appealing to younger generations. Approximately 90 percent of the services at this Gen Z post office will be digital.

According to an intimation by the Central Postal Department, the Gen Z post office will offer a range of services, including QR code–based parcel booking, Smart Service touchpoints providing exclusively online services, a reading room and a Wi-Fi zone.

The post office will operate in a dedicated room near the college aquarium, just beyond the main gate of the campus, said Dr. Anju Sosan George, Principal of CMS College. The facility will be inaugurated by Dr Malayil Sabu Koshy Cherian at 11 AM on December 8. A new entry gate will be opened beside the main entrance for easy access to the post office.
