Ambalavayal: Wayanad has welcomed December by transforming into a mist clad haven. Although a bit late, temperatures have plummeted in the district, making it a desirable winter destination for tourists. Places like Chundel, Vythiri, Vaduvanchal and Ambalavayal are covered in dense mist and fog. The atmosphere gets foggy and cold on most days by 3 pm in Vaduvanchal area.
The mornings are extremely cold with mist shrouding the beautiful hills of Wayanad. Although the skies get clearer and the weather is warmer after 10 am, the temperature suddenly drops by 4 pm. Usually, Wayanad begins to get colder by mid-November, but, this year, the temperatures plunged only by the first week on December. More tourists are likely to visit Wayanad to enjoy the mist and the cold climate after the election frenzy dies down.
