Idukki: Thirty-second-long, endearing conversations between Kathu and baby Jesus are going viral on social media, striking a chord with viewers ahead of Christmas. The reels, produced by the Kothamangalam CMC Pavanatma Province, feature imaginative, gentle conversations between a young girl named Kathu and baby Jesus, portrayed as still in the womb of Mother Mary.
The series has garnered wide attention for its simple storytelling and emotional appeal.
Caitlyn Liz Charles, a class six student of Vimala Public School, Thodupuzha, plays Kathu in the reels. The role of Mother Mary is played by her mother, Neethu, who is also a teacher at the same school. The voice of baby Jesus is dubbed by Jovak Diucriz Joson, a UKG student of the school.
The reels, posted regularly since December 1, will continue to be released through Christmas Day.
The concept, script, direction, camera work and editing are handled by Sajo Joseph, the PRO of the school. He had earlier received appreciation for producing an a cappella video featuring the nuns of the Pavanatma Province.
Pavanatma Province media councillor Sr Joselin said that Christmas-themed reels released by the province in previous years had also been widely shared on social media. Meanwhile, the popular Kuthuvinte Unni reels are uploaded daily to Pavanatma Province's Facebook and YouTube pages.
