School sets up home library for student with cerebral palsy in Kasaragod

Trikaripur: Ashfaq, a Class 10 student, possesses a deep affinity for reading and an enduring love for books. A student at the Elambachi Guru Chandu Panicker Memorial Government Higher Secondary School in South Trikaripur, this youngster lives with cerebral palsy.
During the upcoming summer vacation, Ashfaq is scheduled to undergo surgery at a hospital in Bengaluru. Recently, he expressed his concerns regarding the difficulties of being confined indoors during the post-operative recovery period to Sheeba, a Special Educator at the Cheruvathur BRC.
Taking note of his wish, a project for establishing a library at home was planned under Sheeba's leadership. By establishing a home library at his residence in Biricheri, a new world of reading has been opened for him as a New Year's gift.
The initiative transformed into a full-fledged library with the teachers and classmates of Ashfaq also joining in. School Headmistress K T Reena, BRC Special Educator A K Sheeba and Indira Marankavil, among others, participated in the event.
