Teenager Prithvi Shaw became the youngest Indian to score a Test hundred on debut on the opening day of the first Test against the West Indies at Rajkot on Thursday.
Shaw, who brought up his hundred off 99 balls with the help of 15 boundaries, is the fourth youngest to notch up a hundred on debut.
Bangladesh's Mohammad Ashraful is the youngest to score a Test ton debut. Ashraful was just 17 years and 61 days when he smashed 114 against Sri Lanka in 2001.
Zimbabwe's Hamilton Maskadza (17 years and 352 days) and Pakistan's Salim Malik (18 years and 323 days) are the next in the list. Shaw, who is 18 years and 329 days old, also became the 15th the Indian to score a Test ton on debut.
