Hazare Trophy: Vishnu slams another ton as Kerala outplay Andhra

Bengaluru: Opener Vishnu Vinod's third hundred of the competition helped Kerala beat Andhra by six wickets and end their campaign on a high in the Vijay Hazare Trophy here on Wednesday.

Vishnu slammed 139 of just 89 balls as Kerala chased down the target of 231 in 39.4 overs.

The 25-year-old right-hander's sparkling knock was studded with 13 fours and nine sixes.

Vishnu had scored a match-winning 123 against Chhattisgarh after making a fine 104 in a losing cause against Karnataka.

Kerala finished with four wins and as many losses and bagged 16 points.

Vishnu's opening partner and captain Robin Uthappa was dismissed for one, while Sanju Samson got out for a duck.

Vishnu added 78 for the third wicket along with Sachin Baby (19). Thereafter he continued the good work in the company of Jalaj Saxena (46 not out) and put his side in firm control by adding 110 for the fourth wicket.

Earlier, Andhra could manage only 230/6 in 50 overs after electing to bat.

Ricky Bhui top-scored with 58. Leg-spinner S Midhun returned miserly figures of 2/15 from his quota of 10 overs, while pacer Basil Thampi claimed two wickets.
