Birmingham: After a convincing win over England in the second T20I, Indian captain Rohit Sharma heaped rich praise on Ravindra Jadeja for playing a vital knock, saying that the all-rounder looked calm and composed in a pressure situation.

Jadeja's fighting knock (46 not out off 29) followed by a clinical bowling effort led India to an impressive 49-run win and an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

"Brilliant knock under pressure. We wanted someone to bat through and get us a score, Jadeja had scored a hundred (in the final Test) here and he carried on from there. He was calm and finished it well towards the end," said Rohit at the post-match presentation.

Rohit also highlighted that India have been keen on winning both the powerplays (with bat and ball) and he was glad that it came off well on Saturday.

While Rohit and Pant Rishabh dominated with the bat, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who was declared the player of the match, shone with the new ball again, picking up the big wickets of Jos Buttler and Jason Roy and finishing with figures of 3/15.

"We do understand the importance of the powerplay, whether we bat or bowl. Our powerplay in both games was superb and I want to give guys confidence to continue.

"We do want to give the guys sitting on the bench some chance and will go and discuss with the coach. We are moving in the right direction and the only red flag I see is we can't get carried away," he added.
