West Indies star Andre Russell is famous for his all-round abilities on a cricket ground, especially in the IPL. But the 37-year-old stretched his faculty to doing incredible cricketing stuff by playing two T20 matches in different countries within 24 hours.
Russell started his cricketing marathon in Dubai about 21 hours ago (around 7.30 pm IST on Sunday) when he turned up for Abu Dhabi Knight Riders against Dubai Capitals in the International League T20 (ILT20). Half-a-day later he was in Dhaka, playing in the Bangladesh Premier League (around 1 pm IST on Monday). Russell took the field for Khulna Tigers in the BPL Eliminator against Rangpur Riders.
Considering the quickest flight between Dubai and Dhaka would take at least four hours, not to forget the commute to and from the stadiums, one might wonder if Russell ever managed to sleep and refresh in between.
However, Russell couldn't replicate his heroics on the field in either of the matches. In the ILT20 match, Russell was dismissed first ball. David Warner's unbeaten 93 was the highlight of the DC innings as they defeated Russell's Knight Riders by 26 runs after posting 217/4.
Russell was also on the losing side in the BPL. He made four runs for the Riders as they were dismissed for 85. With the bowl, he delivered an expensive 14-run over as the Tigers won by nine wickets. Russell plays for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL.
