Former England international Kevin Pietersen has joined the chorus lauding Indian batter Sarfaraz Khan's weight loss transformation. Khan, 27, had shared a gym photograph, in which he appears leaner. According to reports, the Mumbai batter lost 17 kg.

Cricket fans have widely appreciated Khan's efforts in the gym, and Pietersen seemed much impressed as he reposted a collage featuring the batter's before and after photos.

"Outstanding effort, young man! Huge congrats and I’m sure it’s going to lead to better and more consistent performances on the field. I love the time you’ve spent reorganising your priorities," Pietersen posted on X.

Khan made his international debut in 2024, playing six Test matches, famously scoring 150 against New Zealand at Bengaluru. However, Khan was not picked for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and the ongoing tour of England.

The retired batting star also wants another young Indian batter to take inspiration from Khan's gym work. "Can someone show Prithvi this please? It can be done! Strong body, strong mind!" Pietersen added.

The reference is about fallen Indian star Prithvi Shaw, whose on and off-field struggles have kept him away from the game. The 25-year-old hasn't played for India since 2021 and has been battling fitness and disciplinary issues. In a recent interview, Shaw said he is a foodie.
