The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday found Pakistan's Sidra Amin guilty of breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the Women's World Cup match against India in Colombo.
The ICC said Amin violated Article 2.2 of the Code, which relates to 'abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during an international match'.
The act for which Amin has been reprimanded took place in the 40th over when she slammed her bat on the pitch after being dismissed. Amin's valiant effort of 81 had kept Pakistan in the chase of India's total of 247. Pakistan were bundled out soon after for 159, giving India a solid 88-run win.
The violation carries a maximum penalty of 50 per cent of the match fee and one or two demerit points. The charges against Amin were levelled by on-field umpires Lauren Agenbag and Nimali Perera, third umpire Kerrin Klaaste and fourth umpire Kim Cotton.
According to reports, Sidra admitted the offence and accepted the sanction, negating the need for a formal hearing.
Pakistan have lost twice in the World Cup being held in India and Sri Lanka. Their next match is against Australia in Colombo on October 8.
