Shafali Verma's unbeaten 69 powered India to a solid seven-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the second T20I at Visakhapatnam to take a 2-0 lead in the series on Tuesday.

India chased down a target of 129 in just 11.5 overs with Shafali unbeaten on 69 off 34 balls, hitting 11 boundaries and a six. Jemimah Rodrigues made 26.

Sri Lanka were restricted to 128/9 with Vaishnavi Sharma and Shree Charani claiming two wickets each. Harshitha Samarawickrama and captain Chamari Athapaththu made 33 and 31 respectively for the visitors.

The series now moves to Thiruvananthapuram, which will host the remaining three matches. The Greenfield Stadium at Karyavattom has not hosted a women's international match before.

The first women's T20I at Thiruvananthapuram will be played on December 26, and the remaining matches are scheduled for December 28 and 30. All matches will begin at 7 pm.
