Trivandrum Royals were outplayed with both bat and ball as an all-round Aleppey Ripples secured a convincing eight-wicket victory in the third match of the third season of the Kerala Cricket League at Greenfield Stadium in Kariavattom on Friday.

Batting first, Trivandrum Royals managed 126/8, with Aleppey Ripples chasing down the target in just 12.5 overs to win with 43 balls to spare.

Trivandrum's innings was in deep trouble after their top order collapsed to 21/4. Sijomon Joseph then steadied the innings with a valuable 46, while K Ajeesh contributed 23 as the lower order helped the Royals reach a respectable total.

Aleppey, however, made the chase look effortless. Mohammed Azharuddeen led the charge with a fluent 68, despite Jalaj Saxena falling for just three with the score on 33.

Azharuddeen and Sachin Baby then put the chase back on track, adding crucial runs to keep the Ripples comfortably ahead of the required rate.

Although Azharuddeen eventually departed, Arun K A smashed an unbeaten 24 while Baby remained unbeaten on 26 to complete the chase in the 13th over.
