Blasters captain Jhingan extends contract

Kerala Blasters captain Sandesh Jhingan has extended the contract with Indian Super League (ISL) side. The 25-year-old central defender from Chandigarh joined Blasters at the start of the ISL in 2014 and has continued with the club ever since. Jhingan has donned the captain’s arm band for the last two seasons.

Sandesh Jhingan has made his presence felt in the ISL.

“I’m staying home,” said Jhingan. “This club, the fans and the state itself has given me a lot. It has helped me be who I am today, so I am delighted to have extended my time at club,” he added.

Kerala Blasters Chief Executive Officer Viren D’Silva was excited to have the player continue with the club.

“Sandesh is as hungry and determined as when we he debuted for Kerala blasters, five years ago. The club shares his ethos to work hard and leave nothing to chance. In Sandesh’s own words, he says there is some unfinished business here at KBFC. Let’s win some trophies together for Kerala.”
