Gokulam Kerala enter semis of Sheikh Kamal International Cup

Chittagong: Gokulam Kerala FC entered the semifinals of the Sheikh Kamal International Cup with a 2-0 win over I-League champions Chennai City FC here on Saturday.

Midfielder Lalromawia drew first blood for Gokulam in the eighth minute and Ugandan striker Henry Kisekka doubled the lead four minutes later.

Durand Cup champions Gokulam finished second in Group B with seven points from three matches.

They had beaten Bangladesh Premier League winners Bashundhara Kings 3-1 in their opener before playing out a goalless draw with two-time Malaysian Premier League champions Terengganu FC.

Mohun Bagan have also booked their place in the semifinals by finishing second in Group A. Gokulam will take on Chittagong Abahani in the first semifinal, while Bagan clash with Terengganu FC.

The semifinals will be played on Monday.
