Kozhikode: RoundGlass Punjab FC scored a 2-1 win over defending champions Gokulam Kerala FC in the I-League here on Thursday.

The win helped Punjab tie with Sreenidi Deccan on points (34) at the top of the table. Deccan are ahead on goal difference.

On the other hand, the second successive defeat meant Gokulam remain in third spot with 24 points from 15 matches, one less than both Deccan and Punjab.

Punjab went ahead in the 41st minute as Pawan Kumar scored an own goal. Slovenian striker Luka Majcen made it 2-0 in the 70th by scoring against his former club.

Though Farshad Noor pulled one back in the 73rd, the Malabarians could not avoid defeat.

Gokulam take on Mohammedan SC in an away game on Sunday.
