Kerala Blasters playmaker Adrian Luna will not be part of the forthcoming Super Cup. The Uruguayan has opted out of the tournament due to personal reasons.

Blasters made the announcement on Twitter.

Luna's absence is a big setback for the Yellow Brigade.

The Super Cup will be held in Kozhikode and Manjeri. The qualifiers begin on Monday, while group-stage action kicks off on April 8.

Blasters have been placed in Group A along with Bengaluru FC, newly crowned Hero I-League champions RoundGlass Punjab FC and the winners of the qualifier between Sreenidi Deccan and the team that won the eliminator (Rajasthan United versus NEROCA).

The match between Blasters and Bengaluru at the EMS Stadium in Kozhikode on April 16 promises to be a high-voltage clash in the wake of the former forfeiting their ISL play-off to the latter.

The group winners will progress to the semifinals. The final is scheduled to be held in Kozhikode on April 25.
