Gokulam Kerala entered the quarterfinals of the Durand Cup as Group C toppers after Bengaluru FC and Kerala Blasters played out a 2-2 draw at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata on Friday.
With two wins in as many matches, Gokulam sealed the quarterfinal berth, which is reserved for the toppers of each group in the competition.
Bengaluru and Blasters needed a win to boost their chances of qualifying.
Bengaluru had drawn 1-1 with Indian Air Force, the fourth team in Group C, the other day. Gokulam had edged the Blasters 4-3 in their recent meeting.
The Blasters had taken a lead in the 14th minute through Justine but Edmund made it 1-1 in the 38th minute. Bengaluru led through Ashish's 52nd-minute strike but the Blasters earned a point with an 84th minute goal from substitute Aimen.
Blasters' defender Hormipam saw a red card in the contest.
