I-League: Sanchez stars as Gokulam Kerala outplay NEROCA FC

Kozhikode: Gokulam Kerala FC scored a 4-1 win over NEROCA FC in the I-League here on Sunday.

Spanish midfielder Nili put the home side ahead in the 28th minute of the contest at the EMS Corporation Stadium.

Captain Alex Sanchez doubled the lead in the 48th minute. NEROCA pulled one back in the 83rd minute through David Simbo.

Emmanuel Justine restored the two-goal cushion for the Malabarians in the 85th minute. Soon Sanchez completed the tally by converting a penalty.

Gokulam, who drew 2-2 with Inter Kashi in their opening game, have four points from two matches and are in third spot.

They next meet Rajasthan United in another home game on Thursday (7 pm).
