I-League: Gokulam Kerala outplay Sreenidi Deccan

Hyderabad: Gokulam Kerala FC returned to winning ways with a resounding 4-1 victory over Sreenidi Deccan in the I-League here on Tuesday.

Nili drew first blood for the Malabarians in the ninth minute at the Deccan Arena. Captain Alex Sanchez doubled the lead in the 39th, while Sreekuttan made it 3-0 on the stroke of half-time.

Sanchez consolidated Gokulam's position with his second goal in the 52nd minute.

Brazilian striker William Alves de Oliveira pulled one back for Deccan by converting a penalty in the 74th minute.

The win took Gokulam to fifth position with 17 points from 11 games, while Deccan remain in third spot with 20 points from 11 matches.
