With the Indian Super League set to resume this month end, Kerala Blasters have suffered a major blow as striker Kwame Peprah has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

The Ghanaian attacker sustained a groin injury during the Blasters' Super Cup encounter with Jamshedpur FC on January 15.

"Following a thorough medical assessment, the club announces with regret that Peprah will be unavailable for the remainder of the season. The club wishes Peprah a seamless rehab and recovery phase," the Blasters said in a press release.

Peprah, who scored two goals, was a key player in Ivan Vukomanovic's team. He led the Blasters' charts for the most shots attempted.

Kerala Blasters lead the points table with 26 points and will resume the campaign against Odisha FC on February 2.
