Hyderabad: Kerala Blasters settled for a draw after scoring first against Hyderabad FC on Wednesday in their last Indian Super League (ISL) game of the season.
Dusan Lagator opened the scoring for the Blasters in the seventh minute of the game. Mohammed Aimen chipped the ball to the Hyderabad box, which was dealt with an unmarked Lagator. The Montenegrin forward headed the ball into the net, giving the Blasters an early lead.
But Hyderabad evened the score just before the half time at the 45th minute through Sourav K. The Blasters defence failed to clear a cross from Abdul Raheeb. Sourav, who was waiting in the box converted the loose ball into a goal through a spectacular overhead kick.
Both the teams tried to break the deadlock in the second half, but the score stayed even.
Blasters, who had a poor show in the season, finished at eighth in the table with 29 points from 24 games. Meanwhile, Hyderabad wrapped up their campaign with just four wins in 24 games, finishing at 12th spot with 18 points.
Only the top six teams will qualify for the ISL playoffs. Mohun Bagan won the ISL shield, finishing at the top of the table. FC Goa, Bengaluru FC, NortEast United FC, Jamshedpur FC, and Mumbai City FC are the other teams that qualified.
