Kerala Police's semifinal opponents, Wayanad United, should be thankful to KSEB, because it was their 4-0 win over the leaders that proved decisive in them sealing the final playoff spot. Wayanad United were tied on points (24) with Golden Threads at the end of the league phase, but managed to edge them on goal difference (+2).

Defending champions Kerala United failed to qualify for the semifinals, finishing sixth in the league round.
