Premier League club West Ham United have announced the signing of former Kerala Blasters winger Rahul K P to represent them in the upcoming TST seven-a-side tournament in the United States.

"Hello, Hammers fans, it's Rahul KP here. I'm excited to play for West Ham United at TST this summer. See you soon. Come on you Irons," said 25-year-old Rahul in a video message shared by West Ham on their social media handles.

The TST event is a week-long tournament held in Cary, North Carolina. Some popular clubs field their teams in the event, often comprising invited players or those picked from open tryouts.

Rahul is reportedly the first Indian to be announced by a leading club participating in the event's third edition, which will be held from June 4 to 9.

AFC Bournemouth, Villarreal CF, Borussia Dortmund, and Atletico de Madrid are some of the other big clubs that will field teams in the TST tournament that will have 48 teams divided into 12 groups.

Rahul, who hails from Thrissur in central Kerala, plays for Odisha FC in the Indian Super League. He spent five seasons with Kerala Blasters. West Ham United participated in the inaugural edition of the event in 2023.
