Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo posted a photograph with his son, both shirtless and flexing their muscles, on 'Father's Day'. Ronaldo captioned the image 'Tal pai tal filho', Portuguese for 'like father, like son'.
Cristiano's son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, will turn 15 on June 17. Last month, the young Cristiano made his debut for Portugal Under-15s. He came on as a second-half substitute in a 4-1 win against Japan in a tournament in Croatia.
Ronaldo was delighted to see his son wear the prestigious red and green of Portugal. "Congratulations on your debut, son. Very proud of you," Ronaldo posted. A few days later, the boy scored twice in a 3-2 win over the hosts. He made his debut goals more memorable with his father's signature 'Siuuu' celebration.
Ronaldo, 40, is one of the greatest footballers of all time. His rivalry with Argentine great Lionel Messi, 37, that dominated the world of football for more than a decade, is legendary.
Recently, Ronaldo scored his 138th international goal in Portugal's victory over Spain in the Nations League final. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner, who represented Manchester United and Real Madrid in his prime, now plays for Saudi side Al-Nassr.
Many players have followed in the footsteps of their great fathers, but only a few have come out of the shadows and made a lasting name for themselves. Former defender Paolo Maldini is the most famous one. He entered the footballing scene as the son of Italian star Cesare Maldini, but turned into a legend himself.
