Defender Milos Drincic, who was one of the captains at Kerala Blasters, has ended his two-year association with the club. The Blasters confirmed they have parted ways with lanky centre-back, 'mutually'.

"Milos has secured an opportunity to pursue his career at the topmost level in another Asian country, and we would like to wish him nothing but the best for his future endeavours," Blasters posted.

Drincic, 26, joined the Blasters in 2023, becoming the first Montenegrin player to sign for the Indian Super League side. What he lacked in pace, Drincic more than made up for with his fighting spirit, making him a fan favourite.

Drincic wore the captain's armband when Adrian Luna was unavailable. He called the Blasters supporters the "best fans in India". "I am leaving proud and happy that I wear yellow jersey and give everything that I could for the club. Wearing captain armband in a lot of games is also unbelievable feeling and memory for life," Drincic said.

The defender did not forget to thank former coach Ivan Vukomanovic, who signed him from Belarus. Drincic called Vukomanovic the 'best coach in the history of the club'. "Wishing you all best seasons ahead and winning trophies," Drincic posted.

The Blasters played three finals, but have yet to win the ISL or any major trophy in the country. Last season, the Blasters had a poor campaign in the ISL, failing to make the playoff after finishing eighth with just 8 wins from 24 matches. The club sacked Swedish head coach Mikael Stahre midway into the season and will be managed by Spaniard David Catala next season.

Last month the Blasters parted ways with striker Kwame Peprah and squad players Ishan Pandita and Kamaljit Singh.
