Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has reportedly been practising football daily to be ready to play against Lionel Messi during the G.O.A.T. India Tour 2025 in Hyderabad on December 13.

Argentine great Messi will be participating in promotional activities in Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Delhi between December 13 and 15. The organisers have said Messi will participate in celebrity matches and attend other fun events.

Since Hyderabad was included as a fourth Indian city as part of the Tour, Reddy declared his state's readiness.

"I look forward to welcoming and hosting G.O.A.T. Lionel Messi in Hyderabad on December 13. It is an exciting moment for our city and for every football fan who has dreamt of seeing a legend like you on our soil," Reddy posted recently.

"Hyderabad is ready to host him with warmth, pride and the spirit that defines our people."

It turns out that Reddy hasn't just ensured that his state was ready for the event, but is gearing up to be match-fit himself. Reddy was pictured posing with youngsters on a football turf in Hyderabad after a game at night. He reportedly turned up for training after his busy schedule as chief minister. It is understood that Reddy will wear No 9 on his shirt. Fans on social media have billed it an M10 vs RR 9 battle.

Football fans in Kerala had hoped they would be able to witness Messi before the G.O.A.T. India Tour as the state government had proposed a friendly in November. However, that match did not take place as FIFA did not approve the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium at Kaloor in Kochi for the match.
