Asian Games: India teams exit in recurve quarterfinals

Jakarta: The Indian men and women archers crashed out of the recurve team competition of the Asian Games here on Saturday.

The Indian women's team comprising Ankita Bhakat, Promila Daimary and Deepika Kumari lost to Chinese Taipei 2-6 in the quarterfinals.

Taipei won the first two sets 2-0, while India took the third 2-0. However, the Taipei archers won the fourth 2-0 to set up a semifinal clash with China.

The Indian women had got the better of Mongolia 5-3 in the pre-quarterfinals.

The Indian men were outclassed 5-1 by the South Koreans in the quarterfinals.

The Indian trio of Atanu Das, Viswash and Jagdish Choudhary had beaten Vietnam 5-3 in the previous round.
