Badminton star Saina Nehwal got married to fellow Indian shuttler Parupalli Kashyap recently. After the close-knit function, the duo hosted reception that was attended by the who’s who of Hyderabad.
For the reception, Saina and Kashyap were spotted in matching royal blue Sabyasachi ensemble.
Saina opted for a heavily embroidered lehenga while Kashyap was in a sherwani matching it with a heavy necklace.
Celebs including Rakul Preet Singh, Lakshmi Manchu, Akkineni Nagarjuna and his wife Amala were snapped on the occasion.
Shuttler Jwala Gutta and shuttler Ashwini Ponnappa also graced the wedding reception.
Both of them are seen grooving on the dance floor in the several pics from the post-wedding cocktail party that have been doing the rounds of social media.
On Tuesday morning, Saina also shared a few more images from post-wedding events and it seems that the celebrations are not yet over!
Earlier, in an interview, Saina said it was because of their career they didn’t think of marriage before. “The career that we pursue is very demanding. It is very important to win tournaments and we didn’t want to shift our focus by getting married. A player needs treatment and attention just like a baby,” she said.
Saina is the first Indian woman to become world number one badminton player and Kashyap on the other hand is a busy player on the global circuit. The duo had been friends before stepping into married life.
