Hosts Thrissur denied Kozhikode a clean sweep of the State Youth Basketball Championship at Kunnamkulam. Kozhikode aimed to clinch both the boys' and girls' titles but fell short in one category.

Kozhikode drubbed Alappuzha 61-25 to lift the girls' title, but their boys' side was overpowered by Thrissur, which won the final, 63-46, at the Model Boys Higher Secondary School indoor stadium.

Alappuzha bagged bronze in the boys' category with a thrilling 59-58 win over Thiruvananthapuram, while Thrissur finished third in the girls' category with a narrow 55-50 win over Kollam.
