Magnus Carlsen has arrived late for games on multiple occasions and still won them in style. India's Arjun Erigaisi took a leaf out of the World No. 1's playbook in the recent Titled Tuesday online blitz event hosted by the most popular playing platform chessdotcom.

Erigaisi missed the first round of the event but still managed to win it with an outstanding score of 10. He won 10 straight games to take the top spot. Every other leading player featured in all 11 rounds, and Polish IM Kacper Drozdowski was second on 9.5 points while American GM Daniel Naroditsky was placed third on 9 points.

Carlsen finished eighth on 8.5 points from 11 rounds. Interestingly, Erigaisi got the better of the Norwegian superstar in the final round. Erigaisi was brave in his encounter with Carlsen, as he dictated terms against the five-time World Champion with his peculiar attacking flair.

An offer of a rook for a bishop from Erigaisi, which Carlsen declined, was the sign of a player at the top of his game. Carlsen resigned on move 36 with Erigaisi's pieces bearing down on his King. Erigaisi had also beaten Carlsen en route to winning the Titled Tuesday in mid-January.
