Kerala's Divi Bijesh clinched a second world title in chess this year by winning the FIDE World Cup Cadet Girls U-10 event at Batumi in Georgia.

The 10-year-old from Thiruvananthapuram defeated China's Zhihan Chen 2-0 in a two-game match in the final stage to emerge the winner. Divi had been placed first in Group B, while Chen finished on top of Group A to qualify for the playoff.

In April this year, Divi bagged a gold and silver at the FIDE World Cadet & Youth Rapid & Blitz Chess Championships at Rhodes in Greece.

She is the youngest child of Thiruvananthapuram natives Bijesh and Prabha. In January, she obtained the title of Woman Candidate Master from FIDE, becoming the youngest player from Kerala to achieve the distinction .
