For the first time, two Indians will clash for the title of Women's Chess World Cup as GM Koneru Humpy has joined IM Divya Deshmukh in the final.

Humpy defeated Lei Tingjie of China 2-0 in a thrilling Blitz tiebreaker (5+3) in the second semifinal in Batumi, Georgia, on Thursday. 

Humpy had to be at her best to force the Blitz tiebreakers with clutch win the second Rapid game (10+10). Humpy had lost the first 10+10 Rapid game earlier in the afternoon. 

Humpy is the reigning World Rapid Champion and India's No. 1. She will take on compatriot Divya, who at 19 is half her age, in the title match on Saturday.

A victory for either of the players will guarantee India a first Women's World Cup medal. The duo has qualified for next year's Women's Candidates Tournament that will decide the challenger for reigning World Champion Ju Wenjun.
